Translation Workshops of TURKEY

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey organize bilingual Translation Workshops jointly with international translation funds, LAF, translation centers, ÇEV-BİR (Literary Translators Society), ÇEV-DER (Association of Translation) and the University of Bogazici and Hacettepe. The workshop adventure started with Turkish-English (TEÇCA) in 2006, and Turkish-German and Turkish-French translation workshops were included in 2011. After the positive feedbacks from our moderators, translators and our international partners, Turkish-Spanish, Turkish-Russian, Turkish-Chinese and Turkish-Arabic translation workshops were also included in 2012 and these workshops were successfully held in November synchronizing with 31st Istanbul International Book Fair.

In 2013, Turkish-Italian, Turkish-Polish and Children’s and Young adult literature are included in the scope. Besides, pre-agreements were made in order to take these workshops into EU Culture Program (2013-2017).

In this context, our preparations are continuing for the organization of the workshops to be held in 2013. The announcements for the workshops to be held synchronizing with Istanbul International Book Fair in Büyükada, Istanbul in autumn will be published on our website (www.tedaproject.com ).
